Before You Move In – Useful Information
Community Rules
The Resident Handbook (available by request) includes all the information and requirements that residents of Rockhaven agree to adhere to. Smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages by any resident or guest is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property.
Application Process
If you would like to live at Rockhaven, you must request, complete, and return an application. When ready to move into an available apartment, qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Rockhaven Board of Directors, ideally in person or remotely via Zoom or Skype. Once approved by the Board, and your deposit is received, we’ll coordinate your move-in date.
Monthly Rent / Security Deposit Information
Rockhaven strives to keep rents priced lower than local market rates and also comparable to or lower than other nationwide Christian Science independent living properties. We offer month to month rentals, meaning there is no lease, but we do require a one month security deposit up front. We request a minimum of thirty days notice before you move out.
Parking
We have free, uncovered parking on site that is available for all residents. We also offer 16 covered garage stalls for an additional $40 per month per stall.
Pets
Well behaved pets are welcome at Rockhaven (up to 40 lbs in size). There is a $250 deposit per pet.
Utility Costs
Water, garbage, recycling, and grounds maintenance (including snow removal) are all included in the rent.
Residents are responsible for all other utilities including:
- Electricity
- Gas
- Internet
- Phone
Rental Assistance
Rental assistance from the Connecticut Department of Housing may be available for those who qualify. In addition, Rockhaven is occasionally able to offer limited rental assistance for current residents.
